New year festivity in Denver among Desi crowds

New year festival parties have picked up in Denver among Desi circles. There are 3 parties announced by reputed restaurants and clubs at India's Castle, India's Restaurant and Club Octane, apart from several private parties. From the tough economic times for the past two years, it clearly shows some recovery signs, though the Desi community was not much effected by the economic overhaul. On the new year's day, there has been several temples and churches are arranging for special prayers and pujas. Sri Venkateswara Temple in Castle Rock is organizing hourly pujas for the whole day, while the Hindu Temple has the traditional new year Ganesh puja offering lunch to the devotees. Apart from these, the Gurudwara and several Mosques are offering special prayser services on the day. As the new year day falls on a Friday, several people have availed the long weekend for their long trips. DesiShades will come up with more coverage about New Year in the next two days.
